Digital Photography 101
Digital Photography 101 is an introductory course to learning digital photography. This course will help build basic skills in students who have an interest in photography, but no prior experience. Using a combination of lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on exercises, this course will explore the basic photographic techniques and artistic concerns involved in making photographs. Topics covered in this class include the fundamentals of exposure, composition, and lighting.
6/01 - From Auto to Manual: Three Pillars of Photography
In this class, we will learn the three pillars of photography: Aperture, Shutter Speed, and ISO. We will also go over the understanding of white balance.
6/08 - Crafting an Image: Composition and Lighting
We will go over how to compose a photograph by learning the Rule of Thirds as well as understanding lighting (natural vs. strobe/artificial light).
6/15 - Putting It all together: Building the Artistic Eye
We will spend this class learning more about how to shoot an artistic image using what we’ve learned within the past two weeks.
This workshop is 3 weeks: 06/01, 06/08, 06/15 from 6pm - 8pm at the Design Gym.
